what does it mean for lgbt ppl to wear a "cisgender-heterosexual mask" when they mostly live out lives online? The internet allows for ostensibly safe spaces for maskless expression in comparison to irl, but the crux of this piece is that we need to reformat the internet.. Websites like ifunny, 4chan, etc have many bad ppl in them but also have minimal impact on the daily internetting of most trans people i would imagine. I think the masking which u refer to is more prominent irl, but is it up to us to reformat the real world?

we can't have a full reformatting of the real world, but we can reformat parts of it so that they aren't so alienating. i'm a alt-transness/transpessimist thinker and transphobia will never wither away, adn we'll always be seen as objects and freaks by transphobes.

and in some ways, we're closeted in the internet. we have to mask our true selves online, even when we're out.
